Liz Miele Q&A – Edinburgh Fringe 2016

Edinburgh, the Fringe, why bother?

I’ve been coming out to the UK and Europe for 3 years now doing shows and wanna continue to get my name out there and build an audience.

What have been the nuggets of inspiration behind your show this year?

My battle with my physical and mental health, my family, traveling across Europe the last 3 years, dealing with my insecurities and being dumped! All this helped build my new hour!

Stand-out Fringe moment to date?

First timer so no moments yet.

When you wished a hole had opened up in the ground and swallowed you up?

My last weekend performing in Manchester. ha ha ha…but really any bomb that lasts more than 15 min.

Your unsung heroes in the industry at current?

Anyone promoting and featuring funny women, especially women who do more than just shock or sex humor. I love seeing more diverse funny women being represented like their male counterparts.

Three shows you must see this Fringe?

Orlando Baxter “Suspensions, Detentions and Summer Vacations” @ The Attic – Pleasance Courtyard @ 7pm

Andrea Hubert “Week” @ Gilded Balloon @ Counting House @ 3:45

Will Duggan “A Man Gathering Fish” @ Pleasance Courtyward @ 6:45

The one person you’d love to see at your show and why?

Sarah Millican. I’m a big fan, she shared my viral video, “Feminist Sex Positions” a year ago and just think she’d enjoy it as a funny, smart, cat loving lady to another funny, smart cat loving lady. That’s all. It would just be cool.

The reason why one should come and see your show?

I’m a loud, opinionated New Yorker with a lot of punchlines and stories. It will be funny and you’ll learn some things.

The one thing in Edinburgh you must do?

Honestly, I’m not sure. I can’t drink so that limits like 90% of the fun, right? I just wanna sight see, which I hope to do on my day off.

Ah sorry, you’re dead. But least you can have that dinner party you’ve always wanted. Who are you inviting?

My grandmothers. Never met them. I have so many questions…and whoever invented Famous Amos Cookies…they are the best. I wanna be his friend.
