I’m Andrew Ryan, I come from Cork in Ireland. My show is about mistakes that I have made and the way I feel about certain things in life. It’s just me going on about stuff that annoy me and how I’m happy with my life really.
What is the first thing people notice about you?
That I’m Irish and have a two dimples. I spend a lot of time saying “Cork, no, it’s not in the north of Ireland, it’s in the south. What? You’ve been to Belfast? Ah that’s great. I know nothing of the place. Now I just want pay for this car clamp to be removed.”
6 things you can’t live without during the Fringe?
Whatsapp, my bank card, aftershave, nose trimmer, BBC news website, access to cake.
Who are your Edinburgh Fringe Crushes this year?
I don’t know yet. Last year I got on well with a girl who worked in the coffee shop near my venue. She has since been deported. In terms of Comedians I like Chris Kent, Damien Clark & Angela Barnes. I always go and watch lots of shows so I will try and see people I don’t know. That’s the beauty of the fringe, you can fall in love with another comedian and then feel awful that you did not write those jokes.
Your darkest Fringe secret?
I once performed a show with no underwear on. I lost a game of pool with another comedian and that was my forefeit. I once did my show backwards, as I was curious just to test it out that way. I will never be doing that again!
