You have to be joking? Annie McGrath

The joke that you loved but no one else did?

In my last Edinburgh show there was a bit where I would perform a first dance at a wedding, alone with Eminem playing really loudly at the same time. I changed the lyrics from ‘I am, whatever you say I am’ to ‘I Anne, Whatever you say I Anne’ and I would wear a massive plastic flashing wedding ring. Every day I thought: this bit is just for me.

The joke that worked but you are not so proud that it had?

Any joke where you pretend it’s the first time you’ve said it makes you die inside.

The comedian that made you want to be a comedian?

Who said I want to be a comedian?

The last thing that made you cry with laughter?

I went to see a play recently and during the most serious monologue towards the end, a man in the audience woke himself up snoring and snorted really loudly. That’s the kind of highbrow stuff which makes me laugh.
