You have to be joking? Louise Reay

The joke that you loved but no one else did?

Erm, My face? Oh, doh. Ah yeh, ‘the way to avoid people sitting next to you on the train is to always take an egg sandwich.’ It’s so true, they stink! Nobody has ever laughed at it though, sigh.

The joke that worked but you are not so proud that it had?

In my last show I improvised with a member of the audience and a sheet. I made them mime ‘doing things’ under the sheet’ and then when they come up I give them a tissue to wipe their mouths with. Rank, isn’t it? People seemed to find it quite funny though.

The comedian(s) that made you want to be a comedian?

Billy Connolly made me want to be a standup and Doctor Brown made me want to be a clown. I’m such a cliche aren’t I? Both true masters though!

The last thing that made you cry with laughter?

I just saw Stephen K Amos do 90 minutes of standup when I was in South Africa. So much of his show was clearly written in the hours directly before his show and was just about the local area, so so funny. Pick and Pay! Hahaha. Oh, you had to be there.
