The joke that you loved but no one else did?
I end my solo show with a full striptease and that really splits the crowd into two vastly different categories. Some folks love it and actually find it touching, but others feel very strongly that I should write jokes instead of just showing the audience my b-hole.
The joke that worked but you are not so proud that it had?
Zach actually started his comedy career in LA doing open-mic impressions of Stewie Griffin from Family Guy. It killed every time, but Zach eventually moved on to higher-brow material like showing the audience his b-hole.
The comedian(s) that made you want to be a comedian?
Australian-born comedian Tom Walker. Not many people know this but he and I are actually cousins, so I looked up to him a lot as a kid. He was always the funny one, constantly cracking jokes at family functions and school plays. I really wanted to be like him (and was really jealous of all the attention he got) so I started doing ‘jokes’ for the family as well. It got really awkward for a few years and Tom’s family literally wouldn’t come visit us in America because he didn’t want to be around his lame, copy-cat cousin.
The last thing that made you cry with laughter?
Our good buddy Josh Glanc does a character on our variety show Stamptown called ‘Spanish Fuck Boi’ where he comes out dancing to high-octane, Brazilian dance music in jean shorts and drinks an entire jug of milk. Comedy at it’s purest, simplest form.
