Rubber Guillotine

RUBBER GUILLOTINE (2016)

Written & Directed by Bryan M. Ferguson

Starring Louise McWilliams

Running Time: 1:00

“RUBBER GUILLOTINE follows an angsty 17 year old girl who sucker punches her parent’s hopes for her future by aspiring to donate her skeleton to gelatine.”

Review: This stylish neo-punk short is mesmerizingly hysterical, featuring an obstinate nonconformist teenager, who, as ridiculous as her life goal is, is compelling to watch on screen and leaves you half hoping that this is a vignette to a character we’d love to see in a feature length film. The delivery of “See if am orange, I’ll fucking kill myself”, brilliantly sums up the attitude of todays inconsequential youth and a palette of vibrant secondary colours help to add to the ‘stuck somewhere between adulthood and childhood’ theme. It’s striking and succinct as well as punchy and provocative.
