Hello, my name is Ali Brice. I’m a character comedian. I wasn’t that before last year’s fringe, but then I did a show with characters. Now I’m trying to do it again at this year’s fringe in my show ‘Eric Meat Has No Proof, Only Memories of Pasta’.
Last year Eric Meat fell in love. This year it’s different. This show is about a little bit about heartbreak, a little bit about breaking up with someone, a little bit about what that all means and a little bit about pasta. I think it’s ultimately happy. Eric Meat is a naïve fool and always seems to remain happy no matter what’s going on in his life.
It’s also really, really silly.
What is the first thing people notice about you?
That I have a moustache. Or sometimes it’s that I’ve had a haircut.
6 things you can’t live without during the Fringe?
Naps in the middle of the day. I love them.
Chips and Curry Sauce from The Clam Shell on the Royal Mile – not every day though.
Breakfast at Hula, when I feel like I need some ‘health’.
Flyering buddies. New or old, it’s always great to have some camaraderie on the Royal Mile.
Roots and Toots.
More naps in the middle of the day.
Who are your Edinburgh Fringe Crushes this year?
Spencer Jones (a very funny old man)
LetLuce – I’ve never seen them but really want to. I’ve heard very, very good thinks.
Your darkest Fringe secret?
I did it twice once.
