Edinburgh, the Fringe, why bother?
Edinburgh, the Fringe, why bother? It’s my home town!
What have been the nuggets of inspiration behind your show this year?
The inspiration for my new play The Club comes from London’s Legendary 90s club, The Tardis and the two lunatics who ran it, George and Nick. The Club is set on one night in The Tardis…think Phoenix Nights meets the Sopranos.
Stand-out Fringe moment to date?
My stand out Fringe moment to date is having Dame Diana Rigg very kindly award me funding after seeing my dark comedy solo show Boxman at Edfringe 2014.
When you wished a hole had opened up in the ground and swallowed you up?
I wish a whole had swallowed me up after I’d simulated having sex in a cleaners cupboard in a Wetherspoons pub in my show Boxman and then come off stage to have drinks with my mum!
Your unsung heroes in the industry at current?
My unsung hero in the industry at current is my stage manager Laura ‘Lou’ Stevens! She’s amazing!
Three shows you must see this Fringe?
Lucie Pohl’s APOHLcalypse now, Sam Simmons and Ed Night!
The one person you’d love to see your show and why?
I’d love Ricky Gervais to see my show! I hope to follow in his footsteps.
The reason why one should come and see your show?
The reason you should come and see my show is that The Tardis club where my show THE CLUB is set doesn’t exist anymore. Step back in time for some full on 90s 24 carat dickheadery!
The one thing in Edinburgh you must do?
The one thing in Edinburgh you must do is have salt n sauce with your chips
Ah sorry, you’re dead. But least you can have that dinner party you’ve always wanted. Who are you inviting?
I’m inviting to that dinner party I always wanted Billy Connolly, Mel Brooks, Richard Prior, Steve McQueen(both), John Cleese, Veronica Lake, Cookie Monster, Ellen Barkin and Muhammad Ali.
