You have to be joking? Andrew White

The joke that you loved but no one else did?
I don’t really do one-liners so I’m quite proud when I write one I like. This has never got the reception it deserves in my opinion though, and it breaks my heart a little:
In Welsh the word ‘Oy’ means egg. So if you go into a chip shop in Aberystwyth and say “Oy, Oy, Saveloy” – that’s just an order.
Maybe it’s just not funny, but I’d prefer to believe everyone else is wrong.

The joke that worked but you are not so proud that it had?

In a string of jokes about failing to exercise, I say that FitBit step counter went into decimals. Which I’m fairly happy with, but I always follow it with “I’m joking, I don’t have a FitBit”. Always a decent laugh, but just feels cheap to me; I would prefer to have conviction with original concept.

I think I’ll have to properly rewrite it now I’ve confessed my sins on record.

The last thing that made you cry with laughter?

The Aunty Donna podcast. They’re a brilliant Aussie sketch comedy group, and their podcast has literally made me pull my car over before. My absolute favourites.

The comedian(s) that made you want to be a comedian?

There’s so many to pick from. I used to devour Live at The Apollo and Comedy Roadshow, so there were obviously a lot of different influences. Peter Kay & Michael McIntyre dominated my viewing though.
