Edinburgh, the Fringe, why bother?
The fringe is full of so many interesting things to see. If you don’t want to spend your life seeing cool new interesting things, then you might as well crawl into the ground now
What have been the nuggets of inspiration behind your show this year?
Just things that have happened to me! I spent two years as a character so it’s about time I tried to find what’s funny in my life.
Stand-out Fringe moment to date?
A couple of years ago I was doing a gig as my skeleton character and I got some of the black makeup in my eye, and a black tear rolled halfway down my cheek and I thought….that’s really cool.
When you wished a hole had opened up in the ground and swallowed you up?
Every single day because that is actually what turns me on baby.
Your unsung heroes in the industry at current?
CHUNKS as a night is incredible, Glasgow has an amazing alternative scene and it’s only just scratching the surface.
And also Billy Kirkwood and Jamie haining for running incredible things down in Ayrshire.
Three shows you must see this Fringe?
Richard Brown because he knows how to write.
Scott Gibson because his show is just incredible.
And Micky Bartlett because I seen him before and loved it, and I can guarantee his show will be fantastic.
The one person you’d love to see your show and why?
I’d love to have myself watch my show so I could rip it apart and be hyper critical.
The reason why one should come and see your show?
Me and Christopher MacArthur Boyd have been out gigging almost every night for the past three years, we’ve put in all the time and effort and it would just be nice to be validated. Also we’re really cool guys.
The one thing in Edinburgh you must do?
I’ve heard there’s a place that does a wrap with vegetarian haggis, I’m not a vegetarian but that veggie haggis stuff is the bomb.
Ah sorry, you’re dead. But least you can have that dinner party you’ve always wanted. Who are you inviting?
All my ex girlfriends because I just love an awkward situation.
Christopher MacArthur Boyd and Rosco Mclelland, 8pm, Gilded balloon at Counting House
