Dominic Frisby Q&A – Edinburgh Fringe 2016

 Edinburgh, the Fringe, why bother?

Hmm. Good question.

What have been the nuggets of inspiration behind your show this year?

The national debt

Stand-out Fringe moment to date?

Watching Daniel Kitson compere Late’n’Live circa 2001

When you wished a hole had opened up in the ground and swallowed you up?

Storming the previews, arriving in Edinburgh full of beans, doing a couple or three shows and realising that, 1, your show is not going to work up here and, 2, you’re here for a month

Your unsung heroes in the industry at current?

So many strong acts out there. But somebody like Mike Gunn or Roger Monkhouse. Been brilliant for yonks yet still unknown beyond those in the know.

Three shows you must see this Fringe?

The Upper-Class Rapper, Matt Forde and Joseph Morpurgo

The one person you’d love to see your show and why?

George Osborne. So he could see the opportunity he had but has wasted

The reason why one should come and see your show?

This is the world’s first comedy show about tax for god’s sake!

The one thing in Edinburgh you must do?

Wander up the Royal Mile with time on your hands

Ah sorry, you’re dead. But least you can have that dinner party you’ve always wanted. Who are you inviting?

George Bernard Shaw. Shakespeare. John Maynard Keynes. Cleo Rojas. Joan Greenwood. Kirsty Maccoll.
