The joke that you loved but no one else did?
I used to start my set saying: Hi I’m Micky, I’m adorable. The audience would mostly look at me confused, and I would then say: thank you, as if they’d wholeheartedly agreed. It’s a terrible way to start, but it made me so so happy.
The joke that worked but you are not so proud that it had?
Those are always the ones that are just really obvious. Like I had a joke that paired being middle-class and hummus, and whenever people laughed I just got a bit sad.
The comedian(s) that made you want to be a comedian?
Not really stand-up, but I was a big fan of Kristen Wiig, and Tina Fey. I thought I wanted to do improv first, but no. No no no. No.
The last thing that made you cry with laughter?
It actually was Kristen Wiig. Me and my friend were watching old SNL sketches, and she does one sketch with Fred Armisen where they do a singing duo called Garth and Kat. Also her doing a character called Mindy Elise Grayson, an old-timey actress with delusions of grandeur. I know SNL is mostly crap, but trust me: she’s phenomenal.
