Self-summary
Hello, I’m Steve Bugeja I am a stand-up comedian, writer and excellent dancer. In 2013 I won the BBC New Comedy Award and this year I’m bringing my debut solo show to the fringe. My show is a story, a true story about the time I picked up a criminal from prison and drove him three hours across the country. It’s called Day Release, because he was out on day release for the first time in 18 years. Intrigued? I should hope so. 20:00 every night at The Mash House.
What is the first thing people notice about you?
Probably my inability to maintain eye contact with people for a prolonged amount of time due to a crippling lack of social confidence. That or my nice suede shoes.
6 things you can’t live without during the Fringe?
Regular phone calls with my mum
Netflix
Vitamin tablets
Jokes
Friends who aren’t comedians visiting
And crepes. I bloody love the crepes.
Who are your Edinburgh Fringe Crushes this year?
Probably any female audience member who smiles at me for a second.
Your darkest Fringe secret?
I have never visited Edinburgh zoo. I will rectify this. Oh and I once killed an audience member for not laughing.
Steve Bugeja - Day Release: Aug 6-17, 19-30, Just the Tonic at The Mash House, 20:00
